When bridging from a Practice Management (PM) application using Name Grabber to open an existing patient in XrayVision™ (XV), the following error may displays indicating the patient does not exist.

Data Drills are the main work horses that extract patient information from the PM application. Data Drills burrow into the application's database and extract the necessary patient information for XV. Name Grabber first passes the patient name to XV and then XV passes the patient name to the appropriate Data Drill to have it find out the patient's SSN, IDnum, DOB and sex. The Data Drill mounts the PM application's database and extracts the information, passing it back to XV. XV looks to see if this is an existing patient or if a new patient record needs to be created.
If the patient record was created prior to Name Grabber and Data Drill being set up, existing patient record in XV may not include or have an auto-generated ID number that does not match the ID number extracted by the data drill. In these scenarios, the'Patient Does Not Exist' error message is displayed because of the mismatch.
Although the error may appear alarming, continue with the 'create patient' process. XV will match on the patient name and provide the opportunity to update the existing patient record.
Select the Yes, create the patient button to continue.
The 'New Patient' dialog box appears and the fields are pre-populated with the information extracted from the PM application's database by the data drill. Click on the Add button.

The 'Could these patients be the same?' dialog box appears. Select the record on the right that contains the existing patients information. Click on Automatically Update the Selected Patient to modify the the existing patient record with the new information from the PM application database.

After the update completes the patient record is opened. Verify the record has been updated by clicking on Patient > Information.
