HOWTO: Get Camera Buttons To Work in DirectVideo

DirectVideo comes equipped with different capture button configurations designed to interact with various cameras. If the button on the camera does not work, select Camera Buttons from the DirectVideo menu and select a different configuration listed on the menu.

Some selections are manufacturer specific (e.g. Acclaim Camera) and some are generic (e.g. EM2820 Chipset). If unsure of which one to select, test the camera button with each one listed.

The mapping of the various camera button configurations are specified in the XTrigger DLL files that are included in the latest DirectVideo upgrader. Go to the Release Updates Site on the Apteryx website to download and install the latest DirectVideo hardware extension.

The DirectVideo extension offers a Still Pin Capture option that is supported by the some Intraoral/extraoral video cameras. 'Still Pin' is an interface that made available by some video sources to allow applications to capture an image. If the XTrigger camera button mappings are not compatible with the device, select Video Options > Still Pin Capture and Other Video Sizes from the DirectVideo menu options. Enable the still pin video capture option and then select an appropriate resolution, if one is available.
