HOWTO: Reallocate Licenses

Each computer running XrayVision (XV) from a network is required to have a Personal Access Certificate (PAC) license. XV automatically assigns a PAC license, if available, when the application is launched from any computer. Occasionally, a user may launch the application from a computer that is not an image capture/viewing station or a licensed computer is to be replaced. In these situations, the license needs to be freed and reallocated (or assigned) to another computer. Once freed, the license will be automatically reallocated to the next computer that launches XrayVision.

Follow the steps below to free and reallocate a license.

1. Launch XrayVision from a licensed computer and then select Help > Display Licensing Information from the menu.

2. The 'Licensing Information' dialog box displays. Select the license that is to be reallocated and then click on the Reallocate License button.



3. Note: A license cannot be freed from the computer being used (indicated by a asterisk) or computers that are currently running the application (an error message will be displayed when the selected license can not be reallocated).

4. Review the warning and select Yes on the 'Reallocate License' dialog box to continue.



5. A second warning displays. Select Yes to continue.



6. Note that the selected computer has been removed from the list of licensed computers and that one license is available. Click OK to exit.



7. Launch XV from the computer that the license was freed for to automatically reallocate the PAC license to it.
