VISTA: Slow Opening Toolbox Sidebar

SYMPTOMS

With the default Vista visual effects, XV sidebar panels open/close very slowly, and may close immediately after opening.

RESOLUTION

1. Access System Properties ( SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe ) and select the 'Advanced' tab. In the Performance section, select the Settings button.

2. On the 'Visual Effects' tab uncheck the Enable desktop composition option.
