Akron, OH. - December 21, 1999 -- Apteryx, Inc., a software development company specializing in software applications for the dental market, today announced the release of XVa3® Version 3.1 the company's digital x-ray program.
XVa3 Version 3.1 adds several features to the industry's most powerful digital x-ray application that improve the program's functionality and further integrate XVa3 with existing practice management programs. XVa3's open design enables the program to capture images from virtually any hardware used in a dental office, including digital sensors, intra-oral cameras, digital cameras and scanners.
Some of the enhancements added to XVa3 Version 3.1 include: Safety Cache™, which
prevents the loss of images if the computer loses power; the ability to print
multiple images on the same page; simplified, one-step video capture from intra-oral
cameras and other video sources; the addition of the British-style tooth control
and tooth chart; a simple, easy to use image email program, and many others.
Additional printing capabilities simplify the duplication of images for delivery
to insurance companies, referring doctors and to patients for patient education.
To enable XVa3 to integrate even more fully with practice management applications,
Apteryx has also released NameGrabber™, an add-on, patent-pending application
that automatically captures patient names and other information from practice
management applications and adds it to XVa3 - virtually eliminating data entry
for dental practitioners and staff. Using NameGrabber in combination with XVa3,
practices only need to use two software packages to run their practice - XVa3
for all image capture and enhancement and their practice management application.
Bob Roberts, Apteryx's Vice President of Sales & Marketing, said, "We are excited about the release of XVa3 Version 3.1, especially since there are so many enhancements to the program that will enable us to provide our customers with an even more advanced image capture and image management program. It is always our goal to deliver cutting-edge programs to our customers and enable them to use technology to provide improved diagnoses for their patients and to streamline their workload. I'm confident our customers will agree that XVa3 Version 3.1 accomplishes that goal."
