Akron, OH. - February 7, 2000 -- Apteryx, Inc., a software development company based in Akron, today announced that the company has located to new, larger corporate facilities to accommodate the firm's growth.
Apteryx's new location in Downtown Akron will enable the company to expand it's employee base and infrastructure to support the company's expansion and new product offerings. Canal Side was originally constructed in 1838 as a hardware and supply store for the canal boat industry, which enabled Akron to become one of the Midwest's major manufacturing and industrial cities. One of the locks and portions of the original canal are still visible adjacent to the building.
Bob Roberts, Vice President of Business Development for Apteryx, said, "With our planned growth, it became imperative that we move into larger facilities as quickly as possible. We are excited to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Akron and the resulting insurgence of high technology companies into the city. It's appropriate that we have relocated our high technology firm into a building that played such a major role in Akron's emergence as a frontier city during the canal boat era."
Apteryx, Inc. was founded in 1995 to serve the custom application development market for customers around the world.
