Akron, OH. - October 25, 2004
Apteryx, Inc., a custom software development company based in Akron, has
officially declared beta status on their new XrayVision DCV project.
Apteryx is excited to publicly reveal the latest product known as XrayVision DCV, a DICOM Capture and View workstation software application. DICOM is the acronym for Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, a standard for the transfer of medical data to and from an imaging device or data server.
“When a current project finally hits the beta level,” Kevin Crucs, President of Apteryx, Inc. stated, “it’s a turning point. The project is put through the most stringent testing and is released to a limited audience for testing ‘in the wild’ as opposed to a uniform, controlled test environment.”
The new XrayVision DCV product is built directly on top of the DICOM standard. DCV integrates seamlessly with the DICOM workflow, storage and recall of images. The DCV product will also support the same set of digital imaging equipment as the current Apteryx Imaging line of products including XrayVision and XVlite.
